What's this: walk with God? Was Micah Mad?
Last night when I went to bed, I finished reading a blog about God and Man and Love and what the heck are we here for and I thought about the struggle so many are going through on the quest to discover life’s meaning and I’m grateful to God for revealing the secret. Read Micah to gain an acceptance of life and duties and think of the frivolous things you did today. The words of the prophet Micah rattle around in my head: “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
So what is so true about Micah 6:8 and all that Justice and Mercy and Humble stuff?
Well, for starters, Abel's blood ran on the ground crying to God and Caan stood there with his fingers in his suspenders triumphantly shouting, "am I my Brother's keeper" and then God tossed him on his butt.
What about Abraham, God choose and directed Abraham and his descendants to keep justice and to do what is right. Gen. 18:19
What about Moses, He says in Deuteronomy 10:12-13 "what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord's commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good.
So I ask this, what should we be doing? How should we live? How do we show mercy? Can we really walk humbly with our God? Walk humbly in this age?
