Soul Cafe

Hey it has been a few weeks since we studied something.
I thought we would study a passage from Romans 10. You know the passage talking about, "How will they know if no one tells them." This got me thinking...Do we have to sell Jesus? Doesn't Jesus sell himself?

What if we could transport ourselves into the future and see if anyone really cares about about DiVinci and the Judas Gospel and the Thomas Gospel and whatever else Satan can dig up to destroy an already frazzled planet of believers.

So lets talk about Selling Jesus. Anything goes! T-shirts, bumper stickers, fish symbols, books, music.
With all the positive attention that Jesus creates-because he is such a good guy-don't you think all we would have to do is say Jesus and people would respond. But how do they respond?

I look at a friend of mine. His brother-in-law just told the family "i'm gay". Or what about the person I work with whose friend's ex wife left when the cancer started to eat at his body. Maybe you know someone who talks one way, but acts another way.
Maybe you are guilty of this. I know I am!

The point of all this is Do we have to sell Jesus? Does Jesus sell himself? Are we good indicators of a Christ follower?

Come with your thoughts.

The lesson is at Andrew and Nancy's place. Yes, again.

Oh Nancy Dear did I tell you what is happening?

Dear Andrew, Nancy and Soul cafe, since I will not be able to attend Soul Cafe I wanted to let you know my thoughts on the topic of discussion. Besides, You all know that I LOVE to talk and share my astounding wisdom on EVERYTHING and ANYTHING.

So here it is... prepare yourself.

My answer to your question is Yes we do have to sell Christ, however, we can not do this on our own, it is Christ that lives in us and through us that sells. Even as Christians we will have to admit that we are sinners because we struggle still. For us the law has no power. And if we trust God he is able to shape the right kind of living in us. AMEN! So we really need to tune into the spirit so we show and produce the right fruit.

We need to tell people who they can trust. so that on their own they will cry out to God, find him and make things right with him. There is no one else in Heaven and on Earth that we can put complete confidence in but God.

Its sad that people look at christians these days and see nothing but hypocrites. A lot of terrible things were done in christs name back in the day and people will not forget it. They expect a lot out of us, so they are harder on us then other religions. We need to be so careful that we dont give shame to Gods name. For example ,if you have a JESUS LOVES YOU bumper sticker or patch, it lets people know the truth which is great, but they will also be influenced by the drivers character. Im sure we are all guilty of some nasty gestures while driving..... (expect me of course).

About the Davinci code and random gospels, those things will not stand against the Bible. no one is makeing a stink about it because we know it will eventially disprove itself. People have been decieved by Satan since the fall with lie after contradicting lie. Yet The bible has said the same thing for thousands of years and has yet to be disproven.

I think Christians should be more bold towards each other when we are going off the narrow path. Andrew, if your friends ex-wife claims to be a Christian she needs to be admonished and instructed because she should stand true to the vows she made in marriage. (in sickness and in health) Christians seem to not even take God seriously sometimes.

LAST THOUGHT: One thing we need to know is that even if we are willing to GO some people will not be willing to listen. And Before they trust they have to listen. But unless Christs word is preached theres nothing to listen too.

So just GO and have faith that GOd is going before you!

I love you all see you on next Sunday.
Hilary
